Samsung's Galaxy Tab S11 Series Makes Buying an iPad a Tough Decision
While September is usually associated with Apple and the launch of new iPhones, Samsung didn't keep fans waiting without an exciting announcement. Similar to last year, the Korean giant launched the brand new Galaxy Tab S11 series, along with the latest addition to the Galaxy S25 series at the Unpacked event.
This time around, the Tab S11 series might finally give you enough reason to consider buying your next iPad and switching to Samsung.
Samsung launches Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra
As announced on Samsung Newsroom, the company has unveiled its latest innovations, including the Galaxy Tab S11 series. Powered by a 3nm processor, the new lineup includes two devices: the standard Galaxy Tab S11 and the more premium Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
With the S11 Ultra equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor, Samsung claims that NPU performance has been improved by up to 33% compared to the previous generation, while CPU and GPU performance have been improved by 24% and 27% respectively.
Design-wise, the Galaxy Tab S11 series is Samsung's "thinnest tablet ever," with the S11 Ultra model measuring just 5.11mm thick and sporting a 5.2mm bezel. Both the standard and Ultra models feature a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
Samsung describes the devices as 'the most advanced and intelligent tablet experience ever.' It's the first Galaxy tablet to come with One UI 8. Of course, no 2025 product would be complete without some AI features, and Samsung hasn't left any stone unturned with Galaxy AI. Some of the AI features you'll find on the new S25 tablets include Gemini Live, Drawing Assist, and Writing Assistant.
If you miss AI the most when multitasking, but don't want to bother looking for it, Samsung has made sure Galaxy AI is always within reach. When multitasking, Galaxy AI is available in a portable, compact overlay that appears as a floating view. Just by description, it sounds a bit like Apple's Slide Over, except it focuses on AI rather than just app multitasking.
The Galaxy Tab S11 series offers smarter multitasking, helping users work more efficiently
With the Galaxy Tab S11 series, Samsung clearly puts user productivity first, too. Thanks to a more powerful Samsung DeX experience and the all-new Extended Mode , users can turn their tablet into a dual-screen setup with an external display.
You can now also create up to four custom workspaces, each designed for a specific task. This is perfect for those who want to keep different activities on their tablet organized and easily accessible.
Available in two timeless colors: Space Gray and Silver, the Tab S11 series will be available starting September 4. The standard Galaxy Tab S11 starts at $799.99, while the premium version starts at $1,199.99.
