Collective graves with 90 bones were discovered in central Madrid
An ancient mass grave containing bones of at least 90 people was discovered at a location in central Madrid.
This terrible discovery was discovered unexpectedly in the process of building a new theater in the Spanish capital.
These remains were found in a historic area with a special guard of the Government.
It is believed that this mass grave may belong to the 17th century, occupied by the Desamparados Church. Euro Weekly News newspaper page reported.
It is thought that the bones were buried collectively there after being moved from the graves from the adjacent church.
Skeletons were given to anthropologists to determine the cause of death, along with their gender and age. They will then be taken to a local archaeological agency to conduct conservation.
Archaeologist Paloma Sobrini told El Pais: "This mass grave surprised us because of its size and size."
