Mini laptop is under 500 USD and Wi-Fi wireless Internet access, Bluetooth connectivity is massively produced by computer manufacturers and attracts great attention of consumers.

They are similar in design to regular notebooks with screens below 10 inches (Dell has released a 12-inch Inspiron Mini 12 netbook) and usually cost less than $ 500 even though the manufacturer often adds a few premium models.

The difference of netbooks compared to UMPC (Ultramobile PC) and MID (Mobile Internet Device) the following two product lines are usually only equipped with virtual keyboards on the 5-7 inch touch screen. The UMPC works on Windows and the MID runs on Linux.

The main task of these devices is to bring mobile Internet connectivity, support web access, e-mail and use web applications like Google Docs. Gartner predicts about 5.2 million netbooks will be consumed in 2008, up to 8 million next year and reaching 50 million in 2012.
