Apple officially launched its own operating system for iPad, multitasking features, support for reading files from USB, SD memory cards
At WWDC 2019 developer conference event, in addition to iOS 13, Apple also officially launched iPadOS, a separate operating system for iPad tablets. So after many years of sharing iOS with iPhone despite having relatively different hardware and performance, the iPad will eventually have a new, separate operating system.
Over the years, Apple has improved and added many new features to iOS that make gestures on the iPad fall into an awkward situation. Therefore, developing a separate operating system for the iPad is a logical move.
iPadOS has a new Home Screen screen with widgets (like widgets that often appear in the Notification Center), expandable and scalable placed in the position next to the application icons.
iPadOS has added many new gestures to improve the device's multitasking capabilities, allowing users to switch between applications or drag and drop applications to the sides of the screen.
On iPadOS, Files application can browse files in columns like Finder on MacOS. In addition, users can make small edits right on the file through an information panel.
Application Files on iPadOS supports sharing folders via iCloud, supports sharing of SMB files, popular file sharing protocols today. In particular, it supports both USB and SD cards, simply plugging them into the iPad will quickly read the files inside.
Safari browser on iPadOS has also been improved to provide the same web surfing capabilities on the computer with 30 new shortcuts, the ability to control the text size, settings for each page, the option to upload images and the downloader manager.
The copy paste feature on the iPadOS is improved so that users can easily copy paste by pinching 3 fingers to copy and open 3 fingers to paste.
Apple Pencil has also been improved to reduce latency from 20ms to 9ms (milliseconds). Standard palette tools are also updated. When dragging the Pencil pen from the corner of the iPad screen, the screen will be captured and ready for you to edit immediately.
