AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D Official Benchmark Results Available: 24% Better Gaming Than Intel 13900K At $449

After a long time with countless rumors, AMD has finally published the official benchmarking results of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D 3D V-Cache CPU.

Regardless of the expectations of AMD fans, the new processor proves to be extremely powerful, especially in gaming with even 24% better performance than the rival Intel Core i9-13900K.

Basically, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is shaped by AMD as a direct successor to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, a gaming chip that is considered attractive in the retail market. This CPU model will be the ideal choice for gamers with a configuration of 8 cores, 16 threads and the same 104 MB of cache (32 MB CCD, 64MB V-Cache + 8 MB L2). The processor has a base clock of about 4 +GHz, which can be at least 500 +MHz slower than the Ryzen 7 7700X, and a boost clock of 5.0GHz, about 400MHz slower than the Ryzen 7 7700X.

In the official benchmark results shared by AMD, the red team shows us a performance comparison on a number of gaming and benchmark applications. AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU is put on the balance with both Intel Core i9-13900K CPU and Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU (for comparison between the 2 generations).

Starting with the case of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D versus the 5800X3D. The Zen 4 3D V-Cache chip delivers up to 30% better performance, with an average 24% improvement. It should be noted that the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D sold for $449 at launch and only about $299 left during the sale.

Ryzen 7 5800X3D currently holds the 'bestseller' position on various retail platforms. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is expected to do the same thing and could also become the best-selling AM5 chip at the time of launch. The recent continuous discounts and promotions applied to the AM5 chip will certainly entice gamers to switch to this promising new CPU model.

Most interesting is the comparison between the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and the Intel Core i9-13900K. AMD's chip provides a performance increase of up to 24% and averages 16% in 4 tests at 1080p (High). It will be clearer to compare based on performance and power consumption. The Intel Core i9-13900K retails for about $550 and consumes about 125-253W of power when gaming. The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D has a nominal TDP of 120W but as in the 3D V-Cache review, the chip will draw less power than that. In fact, even if the Ryzen 7 7800X3D consumes about 100W (a rare case), it will still be only half of what the Intel CPU consumes.

If nothing changes, the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D will officially launch on April 6, which is less than a month away. Let's wait for more in-depth reviews in actual experience to get the most accurate view!
