Adobe CEO received $12.2 million in salary and bonus in 2010
AMD CEO Lisa Su will receive a $33 million stock award package along with a $1.3 million base salary, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The award is scheduled to vest in August 2025, with the stock set to vest in 2028 based on her performance. The announcement comes as AMD shares have surged 28% in June, largely due to market optimism about the company's competitiveness in GPUs and AI.
That would make Su the highest-paid executive at AMD, with an annual salary of $1.32 million effective July 1. She would be followed by Chief Technology Officer Mark Papermaster ($870,000) and Chief Financial Officer Jean Hu ($800,000). The CEO's $33 million stock package includes 75 percent performance-based restricted stock units (PRSUs) and 25 percent time-vested options. The PRSUs will be valued based on:
- AMD Stock Performance from 8/15/2025 to 8/15/2028
- The group's 2027 financial results.
Other senior executives include Mark Papermaster, who received $10 million in stock, and Jean Hu, who received $8.5 million.
AMD is maintaining a strong competitive position with both Intel and NVIDIA. Its data center CPUs are steadily taking market share from Intel, and analysts say AMD's AI GPUs have the potential to catch up with NVIDIA. As the only GPU designer besides NVIDIA that supplies products for both the gaming and enterprise markets, AMD is benefiting from NVIDIA's inability to meet market demand.
AMD's 28% stock price surge in June reflects optimism following a series of positive reports from financial institutions. KeyBanc Capital Markets upgraded AMD to 'buy', Bank of America forecasts AI GPU revenue of $15 billion by 2025, while Morgan Stanley believes AMD could capture 10% of the AI server GPU market. Massive compensation packages for senior executives reinforce confidence in AMD's growth strategy in the semiconductor race.
