Lenovo is about to surpass HP to top the computer market
Thanks to the strong domestic Chinese market, Lenovo currently has less than 0.3% of PC market share in the world.
Lenovo is growing strongly and dominates the Chinese market.
Lenovo may surpass HP to become the world's number one computer maker this year, according to a Reuters report. This is an amazing growth rate when it was only in September 2011, the company took the third place and pushed the countryman, Acer down to the 4th position. If the prediction is correct , Lenovo will become China's first technology company to top the market and mark the rapid rise of companies that are feared in Beijing.
In the context of a slow increase in the global computer market in the recent quarter, Lenovo retained its rapid growth. According to IDC data, HP's market share is currently 15.5% while Lenovo is also closely behind with 14.89%. Gartner data also shows a closer distance when Lenovo is only 0.2% less than HP.
This incredible growth is said to come from Lenovo's own "gut" market. Meanwhile, in the US market, this company is not really a big threat to HP.
Meanwhile, HP recently had to consolidate the printer segment, which accounted for 20% of its revenue with computers to reduce costs.
