Acer has released the first three Core i3 laptops in Vietnam

Acer brought to the domestic market the first three laptops running Core i3 chips, high-end chips in both features and flexibility in price.

Today, at the consumer electronics exhibition CES 2010 in Las Vegas (USA), Intel will officially provide information about Core i3 chip with many outstanding advantages. At the same time, Acer, the world's second-largest computer maker, also introduced the first laptop to use the chip. On January 9, FPT Distribution will bring to Vietnam 3 Acer Core i3 laptop models: AS4740 (14.1 inch), AS5740 and AS5740G (15.6 inch).

Core i3 chips are based on the Westmere architecture, manufactured using a 32 nm process, integrated GPU in the CPU so there is improved graphics performance, less power consumption. Moreover, this chip can playback 1080p Full HD video and decode Blu-ray movies. Each new in-chip core is capable of simultaneously handling two information streams, so a dual-core Core i3 chip can handle up to four threads simultaneously (today's dual-core Core 2 Duo chip can only handle two threads simultaneously). .

According to Intel's feature statistics table, Core i3 chips are high-end in both features and flexibility in price. Specifically, Core i3 with new technology applications reduces the cost to 13%, but gives a much higher speed than Pentium and Dual 2 Core because of the twice as fast threads. Smartcard memory is upgraded to 4 MB from the maximum of 2 core lines of only 3 MB. Not to mention, the third-generation DDRAM support speed of Core i3 5xx generation to 1,333 MHz. Even the speed of the GPU that Core i3 supports is up to 733 Mhz compared to the dual-core 533 Mhz. In addition, Core i3 has the ability to self-overclock like the Core i5 generation.

Introduced in August last year, Core i5 includes three code names, Arrandale, Clarkdale and Lynnfield, but only Lynnfield processors are thriving until now on 32nm technology.

Overclocking feature (Turbo Boost) in Core i5 allows users to speed up the system when used in handling multiple jobs. This feature completely automatically adjusts the processes that help Core i5 can accelerate from 2.66 GHz to 3.2 GHz.

Another notable feature is that Core i5 uses socket LGA 1156 (also called Socket H). This is a new socket with more features in hardware acceleration than the usual socket 775. Socket H has the advantage of integrating the northern hemisphere chip into the processor and graphics card accelerator on PCI-Express 2.0 x 16 standard. Therefore, Core i5 integrated models are graphically powerful models. and multimedia entertainment.
