Reddit is known as the 'front page of the internet' for good reason. However, finding the best experience on your smartphone isn't always easy. The key is using the best Reddit clients for iOS and Android.

1. Reddit

While third-party options are great, sometimes you just want to use Reddit the way it was designed. In those cases, the official Reddit apps on iOS and Android are your best bet. The interface is minimalist and clean, albeit riddled with ads. The apps offer infinite scrolling, so you never run out of content to read.

Of course, you can make the ads more palatable by adding fun GIFs to Reddit. And, the official app is the easiest way to download videos.

2. RDX

RDX isn't one of the full-featured Reddit clients. You can go stealth, but you can't post, vote, comment, etc. On the plus side, you don't need to log in to any app. Subreddits are easily subscribed to using the search bar and side menu. Save individual posts for later.

RedReader is for browsing only, but unlike RDX, you can log in. Or, if you want to stay anonymous, the app supports that too. It's one of the best Reddit apps for simple browsing with a minimalist design. The only reason RedReader isn't a paid app is because it's focused on accessibility, which allows it to remain free as long as it's not for profit.

4. Narwhal

Narwhal has long been a staple of the iPhone and Reddit community. Anyone looking for a Reddit client for iOS that focuses heavily on gestures for navigating the app should take a close look at Narwhal. It's as close to the original Reddit as you can get, and even has a modern twist.

5. Lurkur

2. Price: Free

Some Reddit clients have bypassed the API fees by getting accessibility exceptions. Currently, lurkur is still live and free for users. It's the iOS version of RedReader, which is for browsing only, not interacting with posts. The main difference, however, is that you can't log in. Everything is anonymous.

Don't want to just be a follower? Try Relay for Reddit. It's a premium Android app that removes ads and lets you interact freely. One of the best things about it is that it automatically loads only the content you subscribe to instead of a bunch of recommendations and trending content.

7. Infinity for Reddit+

Infinity for Reddit+ has one of the best designs outside of the official Reddit app. Of course, Infinity for Reddit+ removes the ads, making it even better than the original. The only downside is that it's a paid app. You can browse for free, but when you log in or interact, you'll get a subscription prompt.

8. Create Reddit shortcut using browser

With so many great Reddit clients ruined by Reddit's greedy API policies, some of the best have either gone out of business or are now premium-only. If you're not happy with any of the other options, just use your browser to add a Reddit link to your home screen. This will allow you to access Reddit with a single tap, and you'll stay logged in until you clear your cookies.
