The fire quickly spread, completely melting the mouse and damaging the desk and surrounding equipment. Fortunately, this gamer was able to put out the fire in time, avoiding a serious fire.

The posted image shows the Gigabyte M6880X mouse completely melted, leaving only the plastic frame. The scorch marks on the table and mouse pad also show the terrible heat of the fire. According to "lommelinn", the room was filled with black smoke and dust.
