According to information shared on Reddit by a user named "lommelinn", his Gigabyte M6880X gaming mouse spontaneously caught fire while in use. The fire quickly spread, completely melting the mouse and damaging the desk and surrounding equipment. Fortunately, this gamer was able to put out the fire in time, avoiding a serious fire.
The posted image shows the Gigabyte M6880X mouse completely melted, leaving only the plastic frame. The scorch marks on the table and mouse pad also show the terrible heat of the fire. According to "lommelinn", the room was filled with black smoke and dust.
It is known that Gigabyte M6880X is a wired gaming mouse model that was launched more than 10 years ago. Experts believe that the cause of the incident may be due to an electrical short circuit or the deterioration of the mouse's internal components after a long period of use.
