Top anime series worth watching on Netflix

Netflix is slowly becoming an anime goldmine with some of the most popular and beloved shows in the genre. If you're wondering where to start, here are some of the shows to consider.

7. Haikyu - The Little Giant

Haikyuu is one of those perfect opening anime that will have you hooked from the moment you first see it. The story revolves around Hinata Shoyo, a short but determined high school girl who dreams of becoming an elite volleyball player. The plot is pretty simple, but Hinata's constant battles with taller players and her determination to win surpasses some of the best sports movies you'll ever see.

6. Blue Lock

Block Lock is another sports anime that is incredibly easy to follow but still manages to keep the plot interesting. The story revolves around a psychological battle royale training program designed to create the ultimate Japanese striker. The story begins with 300 high school students locked in a facility, competing against each other to become the future of Japanese soccer.

5. MF Ghost Race

If you're a fan of motorsports, street racing, or even cars in general, then MF Ghost Racing is a show you can't miss. It's also a sequel to the hugely popular 90s anime Initial D, which tells the story of a talented street racer named Takumi Fujiwara.

While Fujiwara races in the 90s, MF Ghost Racing is set in 202X, where electric, self-driving cars have taken over. Internal combustion engines are limited to the racetrack, where an organization called MFG focuses on racing.

4. Demon Slayer

Demon Slayer is probably one of the most visually stunning anime you'll see in a long time. The story revolves around Kamado Tanjiro, a young charcoal seller who returns home to find his family massacred by demons. Only his younger sister, Nezuko, survives the attack, but she ends up becoming a demon herself.

Tanjiro then sets out to find a cure for his sister and kill the demons. His hunt eventually leads him to Kitubsuji Muzan - the demon who murdered his family and is also the ruling demon lord. This is one of those dark dramas that will grip you from the very first episode.

3. Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan is one of the most popular anime series ever, with some of the darkest and most brutal stories you'll ever see. Set in a world where humans live behind giant walls to protect themselves from giant humanoid Titans, the series starts out as a simple survival story but quickly develops into a much more complex plot.

2. High school cyclist

This series is recommended by Netflix. It is an anime about a shy high school boy who wants to join his school's anime club, but ends up discovering that he has an extraordinary talent for cycling.

Onada Sakamichi, the main character of the series, cycles to school on his "mamachari" (mother's bike). He surprises his seniors in the school's cycling club, and ends up winning some pretty intense races. And if you thought cycling couldn't be intense, wait until you watch High School Rider.

1. War magic

The Return of the Sword is everything people love about modern shonen anime, but turned up 110%. The show takes familiar concepts like supernatural battles, special abilities, secret organizations, and blends them into a thrilling yet emotional story.

The story revolves around Itadori Yuji, an ordinary high school student who suddenly becomes the host of the most powerful curse on the planet - Ryomen Sukuna - after swallowing one of Ryomen Sukuna's fingers to save his friends. Yuji is then admitted to a special school for jujutsu magicians, where he learns more about his powers and the curses that plague the world.
