2014: Microsoft won 15% of the operating system market share
According to an analyst with RBC, Windows 8 can support multi-processor and multi-devices, helping Microsoft increase its impact on the tablet market.
RBC Capital Markets analyst Robert Breza has just released a forecast for Windows 8 for investors.
According to Breza, Microsoft's latest operating system will help the company maintain its leading position in the operating system segment for personal computers.
RBC analyst said: ' Microsoft's tablet strategy has the effect of promoting both fixed and mobile computers. Unlike Windows 7, which still has traditional features, Windows 8 can support multi-processor and multi-device, paving the way for Microsoft to increase its impact on new technology trends . '
With the existing advantages, Breza predicts that the "software giant" could gain a 15% market share in the mobile operating system market in 2014.
That result is much more positive than the current fact that Microsoft is holding only 1%.
Although it has just released the preview installation of Windows 8, the number of downloads of this operating system has reached 500,000. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer predicts that Windows 8 shipments on PCs will reach 350 million units this year.
As planned, Windows 8 will be released later this year, and perhaps since then, Microsoft has just begun to have a say in the tablet market that is owned by Android and iOS.
