Why should you turn off Wi-Fi once a month?
Restarting the Wi-Fi transmitter helps to keep the Internet connection running smoothly and preventing the intrusion of malware.
Routers, often referred to as routers, are devices used to broadcast Wi-Fi. Usually, most users will leave the router on 24/24 after the installation.
We should turn it off, wait a few seconds and then turn on the router again. Doing this at least once a month will help make your Internet connection faster and smoother.
In addition, restarting the router may fix other problems related to the transmission line. Here are the reasons:
The router also has the same CPU, memory and storage functions as a normal computer. Therefore, they also need to be 'rested' and 'refreshed' regularly.
Restarting gives the device time to cool down and rearrange the memory, thereby fixing problems such as overheating or overload.
Especially with the more advanced routers, the more features it has, the more useful it is to turn it on and off.
Most router failures are simple and easy to fix. However, some serious software related problems are not.
In 2018, 500,000 routers in more than 50 countries were compromised by malware called VPNFilter. The software finds mainly home and small office routers.
To solve the problem above, the FBI advised users to turn off their router, wait 30 seconds, then turn it on. This will remove the malware from the machine.
A small note is that users just need to turn off and on again, should not reset. Reset is the mode that returns the machine to the factory default mode. Restarting or shutting down and reopening the device will not affect the memory and user data such as passwords or usernames.
With traditional routers, users have to press the power button or unplug to turn it off and on, or plug it back in to turn it on. This action is sometimes a hindrance.
Now, the smart routers allow you to reboot using the app. Users simply open the application on the phone and press the restart button to turn on and off the device.
