watchOS 9 is available, users can download it immediately
If you own Apple Watch models on the watchOS 9 support list, you can download the new version to experience right now.
Essentially, all Apple Watch models from Series 4 onwards can be updated to watchOS 9. However, not all new features of the update are available on all Apple Watch models, especially older models. Old version due to hardware deficiencies. It's also important to note that to install the new update on your smartwatch, you'll need to download iOS 16 on your iPhone first.
watchOS 9 introduces four new watch face options in different themes, including Lunar, Playtime, Metropolitan, and Astronomy. For the existing watch face store, Apple has also applied a few tweaks that help refresh the user experience, such as adding new background color options and supporting some modern features, Watch Faces. Nike Watch is now available on all Apple Watch models.
The new update also introduces Low Power Mode. When activated, this mode turns off or limits some features to save battery, such as background heart rate monitoring and Always-On Display, while basic amenities like fitness tracking or Fall detection will still work. Notifications have also been improved in the new update, which Apple describes as "to be less disruptive while still having an impact."
As mentioned, the update is rolling out to Apple Watch Series 4 and later and all Apple Watch SE models. If you haven't received a notification, you can check for updates manually.
