Top smartphones emit the most dangerous radiation today
Stocklytics has released a list of the top smartphone models with the largest amount of radiation. Accordingly, Xiaomi and Samsung are the companies with the most smartphone models with the highest radiation.
What is radiation on phones?
Smartphones rely on radio frequency (RF) waves to transmit and receive signals. These waves emit a certain level of radiation called smartphone radiation emission.
To understand the potential risks of smartphone radiation, we use Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), a scientific measurement that quantifies the rate at which your body absorbs your smartphone's RF energy. It is expressed in watts per kilogram (W/kg).
Regulatory agencies such as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US and the European Commission set SAR limits for smartphones to ensure RF exposure is within a safe range for users.
Top smartphones emit the highest radiation
A recent report by Stocklytics shows something worrying: smartphone radiation levels are increasing.

Xiaomi Mi A1 emits significantly high radiation of 1.75 W/kg (ear) and 0.76 W/kg (body), is the smartphone emitting the most dangerous radiation today.
Xiaomi's Mi Max 3 series ranks 2nd on the list with 1.58 W/kg (ear) and a worrying 1.42 W/kg (body) for the model without 5G.
Samsung A23 5G surprised many people with a SAR level of nearly 1.5 W/kg for both ears and body.
Even the company's popular folding screen smartphone models, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Fold 5, have quite high radiation levels such as the Z Fold 4 reaching 1.30 W/kg (ear) and 1.51 W/kg. (body) surprisingly. And the Z Fold 5 is at 1.24 W/kg (ear).
The report also shows that, with a wider frequency range, 5G raises concerns about the possibility of higher radiation emissions from smartphones. Therefore, manufacturers need to prioritize secure design practices as 5G becomes increasingly popular.
