Some useful tricks Google Allo users should know
Chat in incognito mode is the 'best' feature on Google Allo. Your chats will be completely 'private' and even Google will not be accessible. Everything will be encrypted 'end-to-end', and messages when sent in this mode will be automatically deleted after a certain period of time.
If you haven't installed Google Allo on your device, you can install Google Allo to your device and install it here:
- Download Google Allo for Android devices here.
- Download Google Allo for iOS devices here.
1. Voice message
Voice messages are one of the most useful features on Google Allo. Just like messaging apps like iMessage on iOS, or WhatsApp and other messaging applications, you just need to press and hold on the microphone icon to record the message and send the message to the chat group or send to any any other user.
Alternatively you can send voice messages to the virtual assistant Google Assistant to get help from Google Assistant.
2. Search for previous conversations
Sometimes, in some cases, you may want to find old chats again and again, but you don't remember when and with whom. With Google Hangouts, you can find conversations by scrolling down and searching on your conversations.
However, with Google Allo, you can search by a phrase on any conversation and Allo will list and display the results found in all the conversations you have.
3. Sticker
Like other messaging apps, Google Allo also allows users to download fun, lively expressive sticker sets, . and it's easy to use.
To add a sticker to a conversation, you just need to press the "+" button and you will see the sticker from the different packages you have downloaded. If you want to download the new package, click the add button as shown below to see the entire collection of Google's available sticker packages and download them. Also you can delete and reorder your downloaded stickers in "My Labels".
4. Draw on the image
One of the other useful features on Google Allo is the ability to draw on photos. You can use this feature to take notes on photos, send them to friends, .
To do this, click the '+' icon to the left of the text input box, select the Picture or Camera section (if you want to take a new photo), then select the image.
Besides the option to send photos, you will see a button that allows you to edit the selected image. Here you can draw on images with different colors and even add text if you want.
Once done, press the send button in the upper right corner and the edited image will be sent and saved on your device.
5. Chat in incognito mode, set the clock to cancel
Chat in incognito mode is the 'best' feature on Google Allo. Your chats will be completely 'private' and even Google will not be accessible. Everything will be encrypted 'end-to-end', and messages when sent in this mode will be automatically deleted after a certain period of time.
To set up a chat in incognito mode, press the "new conversation" button in the lower right corner of the screen, then select the 'Start incognito chat' option (start an anonymous chat).
Choose a contact number that is available for chat. By default, all messages will be deleted after 1 hour, but you can adjust to delete messages after 1 week after reading the messages, or within 5 seconds.
6. Create daily reminders
You can use Google Assistant to set up daily reminders or periodically send new content daily via Allo.
To do this all you need to do is chat directly with Google Assistant and ask it to do something. For example, ask Google Assistant about the current weather situation. After getting the results, you ask it to repeat every day. Google Assistant will ask you when you want to receive this information. After selecting, Google Assistant will send the weather forecast automatically to the timeline you have chosen each day.
7. Invite friends to use Google Allo via SMS
One of the biggest barriers for users of messaging applications is finding new friends and users. With Google Allo, Google has been very smart in figuring out how to invite friends to use Google Allo.
If you type a phone number when selecting a new chat in Allo (those who have not installed Allo), the application will send an SMS to that person with the Allo download link, along with the content you entered.
If the recipient has a response later, you will receive a response message immediately in Allo.
8. Ask Google Assistant to list your friend's email in the directory
You can ask Google Assistant to list emails sent from friends in your contacts, with topic information if you want to look more closely. Simply ask the Google Assistant 'Show me emails from .' and Assistant will display the 2 most recent emails from this friend.
