Indeed, the performance and energy savings of the Dimensity 9000 are so impressive that Samsung has seriously considered plans to launch high-end Galaxy S versions running MediaTek chips. Unfortunately, the agreement between the two companies could not come true, the main reason being the scarce supply of chipsets among many other reasons.

However, this plan may be restarted and applied immediately on the Galaxy S25 product line launched early next year. A new report by The Financial News (Korea) revealed that Samsung is considering creating an additional Galaxy S25 variant running MediaTek chipset, which of course will only be limited to products sold in Korea. certain markets.

Traditionally, Samsung has always maintained the policy of launching the Galaxy S series running the latest generation flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon chip in key markets, while some other regions will receive variants using Exynos processors. equivalent. A similar implementation will likely also be applied to the MediaTek variant of the Galaxy S25 (if available).

Besides professional factors, one of the main reasons why Samsung considers using MediaTek chips on its flagship product line is the rising price of Qualcomm processors. With each Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 said to cost $200, this is an expensive deal for Samsung. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is said to be even more expensive than its predecessor, making things potentially difficult for the Korean manufacturer in the future.
