pCloud - Trusted Cloud Storage Service
Cloud storage tools and applications have become popular and are widely used by many people today. With the ability to synchronize documents and access them anywhere on any device, cloud storage tools help users get the documents they need in the blink of an eye. Names like Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc. have become familiar to anyone who wants to store data. But the appearance of a completely new cloud storage tool pCloud Drive promises to bring unique and outstanding features.
1. What is pCloud?
pCloud is a cloud storage service developed by a Swiss-based company called pCloud AG. It is a traditional cloud storage service that is responsible for keeping files safe and making them available on all devices. pCloud is available on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and iOS. It is the world's first cloud service that stores both unencrypted and encrypted files.
pCloud was founded in 2013 by Anton Titov and Tunio Zafer. Within five years, the company has attracted over 9 million users including Coca-Cola, Uber, and Nike. It offers 10GB of free storage and offers a lifetime subscription after a one-time payment. pCloud ensures that personal files are protected and cannot be accessed by others. pCloud offers a 2TB lifetime family plan.
Advantage
- Great value with lifetime subscriptions
- A reliable free plan
- Social Network Integration
- Good file and version management
- Great upload and download speeds
Disadvantages
- Local encryption services cost extra
- Desktop and mobile apps have some limitations
- No document editing options
- Maximum memory only 2 TB
Although it's been around for a while, pCloud is much less popular than the big names like iDrive, Backblaze, Google Drive, and DropBox. However, pCloud is a popular choice, combining affordable pricing plans (with a decent free option), great upload and download speeds, lots of third-party integrations, user-friendly and intuitive apps, and more.
