Chad and Harlan Robins, founders of Adaptive.
Adaptive CEO Chad Robins said your immune system will know what disease you have before doctors see you. Basically, this idea is to record all data about how the immune system reacts in the human body and use them to diagnose all illnesses with just one sample of the patient's blood.
Our bodies are constantly exposed to new pathogens and the immune system is constantly dealing with them so the amount of data is increasing. And to handle that huge amount of data, we will need the power of an artificial intelligence.
Chad Robins said that cancer has a high mortality rate, diseases that are difficult to diagnose but are "auto-immune" and infectious diseases will be their initial goal. And the first candidate for this system is lyme disease - an infection from the bite of a live tick species.
The researchers hope that the first diagnostic tool will be available within the next 3 years. It will help doctors diagnose disease early and more accurately without the need for complicated and complicated tests. Even with a complete record of the human immune system, we will be able to predict how they will fight pathogens and deduce more effective treatments in the future.
