Artificial intelligence system can diagnose heart disease, cancer early

Researchers in the UK have developed new artificial intelligence systems (AI) that can help diagnose heart disease and lung cancer more accurately and sooner. Now cardiologists can know heart problems from the time of heartbeat during the scan. However, even the best doctors make mistakes with one in five cases.
Recently, at John Radcliffe Hospital in the UK, scientists have launched a more accurate heart diagnosis system. It can clearly identify details in scans that doctors cannot see. The system then makes recommendations when it believes that there is a risk of a heart attack patient.
This system has been tested in clinical trials in six types of cardiovascular disease. According to Professor Paul Leeson, who developed the system, the data show that this system has surpassed the ability of diagnostic specialists to diagnose the heart.
The system called Ultromics has been designed and engineered to identify potential problems by performing tests of 1,000 patients Leeson has treated over the past 7 years with information about whether they have heart problems or not. Another similar system developed by a newly established UK company is looking for signs of lung cancer. It searches for large clusters of cells called nodules that are the initial signs of lung cancer.
