IPhone users tend to switch to Samsung smartphones
According to CNET page statistics based on BankMyCell smartphone exchange service collected since October 2018, iPhone purchase rate has decreased by 15.2% compared to last year.
Data show that up to 26% of iPhone X users switch to using other brand smartphones, while only 7.7% of Galaxy S9 users switch to Apple's iPhone. This shows that user loyalty with Apple has declined.
Data show that 92.3% of those who bought Android smartphones continue to be loyal to this operating system.
In June alone, up to 18% of Apple phone users in different lives switched to using Samsung smartphones.
When combined with surveys from other companies, BankMyCell found that iPhone users' loyalty levels dropped to only 73%, the lowest level since 2011, (the highest loyalty is 92% in 2017).
However, these figures are for reference only because BankMyCell's statistics only reach about 38,000 people, a very small part of millions of iPhone users worldwide.
But in January 2019, CEO Tim Cook issued a warning about declining iPhone demand, especially in the Chinese market. Recently, iPhone sales in the Indian market in the first quarter fell by 42% over the same period in 2018.
