1. Method 1: Create a new world in Java Edition 1.16 or later and set the game mode to Hardcore. Next, click Game Rules and select Natural Regeneration to make it False. Once that's done, click Create World.
2. Method 2: Once the world is done, open the pause menu, click the Open to LAN option and enable Cheats before clicking the Start LAN World button. Once this is done, exit the menu and enter the following command in the chat box: /gamerule naturalRegeneration false.

Always bring extra food

When playing Ultra Hardcore, it is important for the player to carry excess food with them, in case they get lost far from base. Remember that hunger can kill people and try to keep the hunger meter full.

Eating and drinking in the middle of a battle is quite difficult to do, but restoring health can save a player's life. So constantly eating is the best option. Don't jump too much or take unnecessary damage, as it lowers the hunger bar quickly.

Avoid unnecessary damage

In UHC, the player does not have the ability to naturally restore health, so it is necessary to avoid taking damage at all costs. Sometimes there are risks to take, but most of the time it's not worth dying for.

For example, instead of throwing an Ender Pearl to cross an ocean of lava, it's best to build a bridge to cross the gap. Although the speed is slow, falling into lava and back again takes even longer and increases the risk of death.

Dying from lava is quite common in Minecraft Hardcore, especially when exploring the Nether. So carrying a potion of fire retardant plays an important role.
