iCloud Private Relay issue affects iCloud+ users
iCloud Private Relay is down
Apple confirmed the issue through its System Status website. According to the company, the incident began around 11:34 a.m. Pacific Time and is still ongoing.
For those who don't know, iCloud Private Relay sends all of your Internet access requests through two separate, secure Internet relays, including one operated by Apple and one operated by a third party. The second relay means that even Apple doesn't know who the users are and the websites they are visiting
However, because iCloud Private Relay controls Internet access requests, the issue could affect users' browsing experience.
Apple is aware of this disruption and is working to fix it. Currently, if you're having trouble browsing the web, you should turn off iCloud Private Relay in iCloud settings.
Note that iCloud Private Relay is part of your iCloud+ subscription. This feature is not available for free iCloud users.
