To start fishing in Slayers 2, reach level 45, complete Dock Master Sofen's Fishing Permit quest at Mistfall Harbor, and buy a Basic Fishing Rod from the nearby fisherman. The later progression takes you through a Rare Rod and the Drowned Lure quest for the Legendary Fishing Rod.
Use the current NPC dialogue and item tooltips as the final reference for requirements and stats. The game can change, and older guides use inconsistent spellings for some NPCs and fish.

Get the Fishing Permit
- Reach level 45 and travel to Mistfall Harbor.
- Speak with Dock Master Sofen near the fishing area and accept the permit quest.
- Look for the permit paperwork on wooden crates near a building across the docks.
- Return to Sofen and complete the hand-in before trying to buy a rod.
If the purchase option remains locked, confirm that you accepted and completed the quest rather than only finding the paperwork.

Buy the Basic and Rare rods
Basic Fishing Rod
Fisherman Jeso stands near Sofen. After obtaining the permit, buy the Basic Rod for 3,500 Wen, subject to the price shown in his current dialogue. Keep it after upgrading: the Drowned Lure step uses the Basic Rod with no bait.
Rare Fishing Rod
The listed requirement is five Golden Fish and 10,000 Wen at the same fisherman. Keep the requested fish in your inventory until you finish the trade.
The Rare Rod's listed bonuses include a 1.5× bite-speed multiplier, +0.35 fish luck and a 95% catch chance. Check the item card for the full current stats, especially cast radius, before comparing it with another rod.
Complete a fishing attempt
Equip the rod, cast into the water and wait for a bite. Follow the onscreen fishing prompt and keep the controlled indicator aligned with the moving target area until progress completes. Controls can differ between PC and mobile, so use the prompts shown by your client.
Follow the Legendary Rod quest
1. Catch the Drowned Lure
Follow Sofen's clue toward the red bridge at Mistfall Harbor. At night, fish from the rocky ledge opposite the waterspout using the Basic Rod with all bait unequipped. The lure is reported after several successful catches; do not treat five or six attempts as an unconditional guarantee.
2. Speak to the ghost fisherman
Find Isao, the ghost fisherman under the red bridge, at night. Complete his dialogue and supply the legendary fish he requests. The usual hand-in is two Crustadon and two Krathulon; follow your active quest if it shows a different requirement.
Older guides also call the second fish Krahuon. Check the inventory name and quest counter instead of discarding a fish solely because the spelling differs in a guide. A Rare Rod can help with this stage, but use bait that your current game actually offers.
3. Fish at the final location with the lure equipped
After the hand-in, follow Isao's clue downstream to the ledge near a tree and small waterfall outside the Butterfly Estate area. Equip the Drowned Lure as bait; leaving it in your inventory is not enough. Use the rod specified by the quest and continue fishing at the indicated spot until you obtain the Legendary Rod.
The Legendary Rod's notable listed feature is the Items catch tier, alongside 3× bite speed, 95% catch chance and +0.5 fish luck. Read its tooltip for current values rather than relying on a fixed cast-radius claim.
Equip the Legendary Fisherman title
Obtaining the Legendary Fishing Rod unlocks the Legendary Fisherman title. Equip it if you want its fishing bonuses. The listed effects are 1.07× fishing luck, 1.05× bite speed and 1.06× breath duration; confirm these in the current title description.
Unlock bait purchases
Speak to Baitmonger Nori in Hidden Mist Village, then complete Shiori's request at Butterfly Estate. The listed hand-in is:
- 10 Health Elixir
- 10 Health Regen Elixir
- 10 Stamina Elixir
Return to Nori afterward. Listed bait options include Worms at 4 Wen, Fish Head at 6 Wen and Golden Tentacle at 40 Robux. Check the current shop before spending; bait that helps ordinary fishing should be removed for the no-bait Drowned Lure step.

Refine a rod after checking the benefit
Visit Rifer Hagane in Hidden Mist Village to refine rods using currency and ore. The fishing benefit described for refinement is increased luck. Inspect the cost and projected change before confirming, especially when rarer ore is required.
If quest progress stalls, check the level and permit first, then the time of day, location, equipped rod, bait and required fish. Changing all of these together makes it harder to identify the missing condition.
