Table of Contents
Firstlight Tanto, Firstlight Spear, Lost Shotgun and Nightfall Katana are four strong weapons to consider for a Slayer build in Slayers 2. Choose among them by the attacks you can use reliably, your Breathing style and whether you mainly fight bosses or other players.
A tier list is an opinion about a particular version, not an in-game rarity or a guarantee that one weapon wins every matchup. Balance changes, refinement and the rest of your equipment can change the comparison.

What the tier labels mean
| Tier | How to interpret it |
|---|---|
| S | A leading option for the build and game version being considered. |
| A | A strong alternative that may be easier to obtain or better suited to your style. |
| B | A situational choice whose value depends on a compatible build or matchup. |
| C | A more limited option, which can still serve during early progression. |
The four weapons below are a focused shortlist, not a complete ranking of every Slayer and demon weapon. A lower tier does not by itself make an affordable weapon unusable while you collect materials.

Compare the listed base bonuses
These figures are the listed values used for this comparison. Check your current item card before crafting or upgrading. They are not a calculation of final damage per hit or damage per second.
| Weapon | Additional damage | Damage factor | Block points | Reason to consider it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Firstlight Tanto | +5.75 | 1.15× | +8.3 | Close-range attacks and strong listed blocking bonuses |
| Firstlight Spear | +5.75 | 1.15× | +8.1 | Reach and area coverage |
| Lost Shotgun | +5.75 | 1.15× | +7.85 | A different attack kit, particularly worth testing in PvE |
| Nightfall Katana | +5.75 | 1.14× | +6.2 | A conventional katana option for compatible builds |
Do not assume a larger single number determines the whole weapon's performance. Attack reach, recovery, stamina use and the way skills connect all matter.
Firstlight Tanto: close-range control
The Tanto has the highest listed block-point bonus among these four options. It is worth considering if you favor quick close-range attacks and a kit that fits your usual skill sequence.
Test whether your combo connects consistently and whether you can recover safely after a missed attack. A strong bonus cannot compensate for repeatedly starting fights outside your effective range.
Firstlight Spear: reach and area coverage
The Spear is worth testing when you want more reach and attacks that can cover an area. That can suit both spacing against players and situations where enemies are grouped together.
Learn each skill's range, timing and recovery. Do not treat a general claim about invincibility frames as proof that every skill can ignore every incoming attack; check the current skill descriptions and test the timing.
Lost Shotgun: a different combat rhythm
The Lost Shotgun offers a different attack kit from the melee weapons. It is a candidate for players who want to test a weapon built around its own attack sequences rather than a familiar sword combo.
Try it against ordinary enemies and a boss before investing heavily. Check which moves connect reliably, how the kit behaves when targets move and whether the recovery time leaves you exposed. Its usefulness in PvE does not automatically establish it as the best choice for PvP.
Nightfall Katana: a familiar weapon type
The Nightfall Katana is a candidate for a build that suits katana combat. Its listed additional-damage bonus matches the other three, while the factor and block bonuses differ.
Inspect the actual crafting recipe and cost before farming. A quoted price from an older tier list may not describe your current version, refinement level or selected weapon variant.
Before committing materials
- Confirm that the weapon works with your character path and Breathing style.
- Read the base item card separately from upgraded or refined stats.
- Compare your main PvE or PvP use case rather than an overall tier letter.
- Write down the current schematic, currency and material requirements.
- Keep a usable progression weapon while working toward the upgrade.
The best choice for your build is the one whose attacks and defensive options you can apply consistently, at a resource cost you can reasonably afford.
