How long is the old iPhone supported by Apple with iOS updates?
One of the reasons many people choose to use Apple products is that they have long-term software support. Apple's older iPhone lines were supported for many years after its release via iOS updates, unlike Android smartphones that only support for 2 years from the time of launch.
Apple's early iPhones like iPhone 2007 to iPhone 4s are only supported for one to three iOS versions. But later, older iPhones received updates for longer. For example, iPhone 5s, after the release of this device has received iOS updates for 6 years.
Apple said that only old iPhones with hardware that did not meet the requirements, were not strong enough or that the CPU and RAM were too old to be able to operate on the new iOS. Most of the users' old devices can still update iOS and get new updates because they are supported by Apple beyond the normal time.
Looking at the chart above, we see that iPhone 6s and iPhone SE are still supported on the latest iOS 13 but when iOS 14 docked next year, the hardware of this duo is not necessarily supported by Apple.
