Quizizz is an interactive, game-based learning platform focused on building tests to assess students' learning progress. In addition to traditional multiple-choice tests, Quizizz offers numerous customization options to create test questions tailored to specific assessment levels, topics, or desired answer types.
Quizizz can be used to create interactive lessons, polls, surveys, and even memes that can be embedded into quizzes or lessons. These lessons and quizzes can be done by students outside of class or shared directly by teachers for in-class assessment. Teachers using Quizizz also have access to a large library of pre-made games, lessons, and quizzes across various subjects and levels to use as templates for building new quizzes or as available options.
Additionally, Quizizz provides an integrated scoring system for ease of use and data reporting so teachers can see where students are interacting with the material, where they are succeeding, and where they might need further assistance.
After completing the quizzes, students can review their answers. Furthermore, the resulting data is compiled into a spreadsheet to provide instructors with a clear overview of student performance.
This type of immediate response test can be used by teachers to modify future learning activities and enhance the focus of the lesson content by concentrating more on concepts that students are struggling with.
Users can access hundreds of pre-made learning quizzes or create their own. Let's explore how to create an account and learn the basics of using Quizzzi for beginners.
How to create a Quizizz account
Step 1 : Go to Quizizz.com and click Get Started .
Step 2 : Choose to create an account through Google/Microsoft by clicking Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft .
Step 3 : Choose one of three purposes for using Quizizz: learning ( at a school ), work ( at a business ), and personal use .
Step 4 : The main Quizizz interface will open, along with the necessary toolbars located on the left side.
Instructions on creating quizzes using Quizizz
Step 1 : On the left-hand toolbar, click the purple Create button to create a new question.
Step 2 : In the pop-up window, enter the name and select the topic of the test. Click Next to continue.
Step 3 : If you want to search for available questions, enter keywords into the Teleport questions search bar and press Search .
If you want to create your own quiz, select the question type in the " Create a new question" section .
There are six types of questions, including:
- Multiple Choice : Choose the correct answer from several options.
- Checkbox : Check the box before the correct answer.
- Fill in the blank : Fill in the correct answer in the blank space.
- Poll : Respondents will vote on the type of poll.
- Open-ended : Respondents can freely enter answers to the open-ended question.
- Slide : Creating a PowerPoint presentation for the lesson.
Step 4 : Enter the question, answer choices, and select the correct answer in the corresponding boxes. The creator can add images, audio, and videos to each question and answer using the icons to the right of each question. Change the response time from 5 seconds to 15 minutes in the bottom left corner of the question creation panel.
To add an image to the question, click the Image button next to the question text field. Users can also add questions with text and/or images in the same way. Adjust the question answer time from the dropdown list.
All questions must have between 2 and 5 answer options. Click the " Add answer" option if you wish and save to provide several answer choices for the question.
Now people can also add images as answer options or images within the question. Upload images for answer options (from the dropdown list as shown below).
Step 5 : Click Save to save the question you just created.
Step 6: Users can repeat the above steps to create multiple different questions for a quiz. Then, click the Publish button to officially complete and publish the quiz.
Step 7 : When the quiz is ready, everyone can review it by clicking Practice. Or the instructor can choose between Start a live quiz to begin the quiz immediately or assign homework by clicking Assign homework .
- To start a live quiz : Choose one of the modes: Team / Classic / Test , then click Continue . An access code to the quiz will appear; copy and send it to others to begin answering the questions.
- For Assign homework : Choose a specific date and time to submit your assignment in the Custom deadline section , or no deadline in No deadline (the assignment you just created will expire after 6 months). Finally, click Assign to complete.
Step 8 : Users can share the game via Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, or copy and share the link via email, WhatsApp, etc., so that students can access it. Players or students who receive the link can join using their names on their laptops or mobile phones.
Quizizz User Guide for Students
Step 1 : Learn how to use Quizizz
Quizizz is a quiz game where participants have a set amount of time to answer each question. To start searching for quizzes to play, click on the search bar and find the quiz topic you're interested in.
Step 2 : Find a puzzle
There are many quizzes on Quizizz, so search for and click on one to test your skills. Choose Practice to start the quiz or Challenge Friends to challenge others to take the quiz.
Step 3 : Start the test
After clicking Practice , begin the quiz by selecting Start . Alternatively, participants can click Challenge Friends to submit quizzes to others or Flashcards to view flashcards.
Step 4 : Play the puzzles.
When the quiz begins, participants will have a set amount of time to answer each question, and the timer will reset for every question if the quiz creator chooses to enable the timer. Answering all questions correctly throughout the quiz completes it.
Step 5 : Use supporting tools if available.
Power-ups, or assistive tools, give players extra strength and an advantage when answering puzzles. They can help players avoid mistakes.
There are many player-assistance tools in the Power-up section; if the quiz creator has enabled this feature, respondents can spin a wheel when prompted and see what they receive. Quizizz Power-ups include:
Step 6 : Study the flashcards
At the start page, everyone will have an option to click on Flashcard . Participants can use flashcards to better understand the questions without having to choose between options.
