In the 1800s, the Hong and White geological platforms, the Rotomahana hot water reservoir contained the world's largest silica sedimentary ladder, the most attractive place in New Zealand.
These steps are formed from layers of sediment, because hot water carries minerals that accumulate on the edge of the lake. The water will spill out of the lake and flow down to the lower position, this process is repeated many times and forms a series of terraced terraced terrain in a large hot lake. Thanks to the color of the special minerals and the microbiota here, these steps are both white and pink.
Researcher Rex Bunn and Dr. Sascha Nolden have discovered the trace of this geological shelf buried in ash 15 meters deep. Immediately, archaeologists were invited to a comprehensive survey to restore this unique place.
The white and pink sedimentary staircases are the most attractive view of the Southern hemisphere under the British Empire. British, American and European tourists come here not only to take a hot bath but also to see the terrain nicely and beautifully.
Unfortunately, at that time the government did not officially conduct the survey, so there was no data on meridians and latitudes.
Position Rotomahana lake on the map.
After discovering the trail of the 8th natural wonder of the world, the team hopes to have a budget of US $ 50,788 to conduct the survey in the near future.
