The first step Cathy created a layout in photoshop, then sketched on white paper the same size as the scratchboard. Next, Cathy moved the sketch drawing down to the board with white transfer paper, giving a " line copy " to scratch.

When the color is applied to Cathy, it may scratch again and it may become white again. This allows multiple layers of scratching and color. After the work is completed, they are smoothed with a storage layer to avoid scratches and even store all tones.
