Extremely valuable upgrade of Galaxy Z Fold3 for users
Samsung has recently launched a new version of its high-end folding smartphone line, the Galaxy Z Fold3.
Compared to the previous Galaxy Z Fold2, the Galaxy Z Fold3 brings many major upgrades. In terms of design, this is the world's first folding screen smartphone with a built-in camera hidden under the screen. A feature that many users have been waiting for is the S-Pen, which is now available, allowing them to freely write/draw on the big screen. Galaxy Z Fold3 (and Z Flip3) is also the first generation of folding screen smartphones with IPx8 water resistance. In addition, the device has many other upgrades in terms of configuration, 5G network or camera.
Above are the outstanding upgrades of the Galaxy Z Fold3 that perhaps any of us, especially those who regularly follow technology, already know. However, the Galaxy Z Fold3 has another small upgrade, but it means a lot to Vietnamese users that not everyone notices.
Specifically, this detail is related to the SIM slot of the device. Users are quite familiar with Samsung smartphones, especially models sold in Vietnam, that support 2 SIMs. However, on Samsung's first folding screen smartphone, the Galaxy Fold, Samsung could not bring this and the device only supports 1 SIM - quite inconvenient.
On the Galaxy Z Fold2, Samsung fixed the problem by giving it support for an electronic SIM (eSIM). Users will be able to activate 2 SIMs through 1 physical SIM and 1 eSIM. However, some users still feel inconvenienced by this, especially those who frequently change SIMs.
Now with the Galaxy Z Fold3, Samsung has completely solved this situation. Galaxy Z Fold3 owns a dual SIM tray and supports 2 physical SIMs. Even better, this device still supports eSIM like its predecessor, allowing users to use physical SIM or eSIM depending on individual needs. It should be noted that, despite integrating 2 physical SIM slots and 1 eSIM, the Galaxy Z Fold3 only supports using 2 SIMs at the same time, i.e. 1 eSIM + 1 physical SIM or 2 physical SIMs.
With a lot of Vietnamese users using 2 SIMs, this will be a very worthwhile upgrade of the Galaxy Z Fold3. Unfortunately, the Galaxy Z Flip3 will still only support 1 physical SIM (and 1 eSIM) as before, perhaps due to its small size.
