The reflex walked in another infant.
According to Rochester University Medical Center, walking or dancing is one of the normal reflexes in babies. When standing upright with the foot touching the hard surface, the baby looks like he is taking small steps or jumping.
The walking reflex will last about two months after the baby is born to help children survive and thrive. But this does not predict the child's early departure.
This is a natural developmental sign of an infant besides some other reflexes such as a fist reflex (palmar), babinski reflex, or a defense reaction when swiveling the neck ( tonic neck). Children aged 10 - 18 months begin to practice walking.
