Dell launches a cheap laptop with Blu-ray integrated
The world's second-largest PC maker Dell has introduced the Inspiron 1525 notebook line with Blu-ray drive but only has a starting price of 879 USD.
' Dell is one of the companies that backed the Blu-ray format right from the beginning. In fact, more than a year ago customers were able to choose a Blu-ray drive to complement their purchased laptop products , 'said Anne Camden, a Dell spokesman. ' As for this launch, Dell has brought the price of Blu-ray drives down to a level that is more suitable for users .'
Dell's new optical drive is not only compatible with the high-definition Blu-ray format, but can also read and write traditional DVD / CD formats. In addition, Dell provides customers with a Blu-ray drive for data backup because the capacity of a Blu-ray disc can be up to 50GB.
Other specifications of the Inspiron 1525 include a 720p high-resolution display, HDMI output that can be connected to HDTV or other high-resolution screens, Intel Core 2 Duo chips, etc. was able to upgrade to the latest Penryn chip from Intel, but the price increase will be quite high.
