ASD is more common in boys than girls, according to a recent study.

Scientists say they have discovered the difference in a brain signaling pathway that makes boys more autistic than girls.

This bias may also occur in other neurodevelopmental disorders, such as hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and specific language disorders.

Nearly 1 in 200 autism cases is caused by the deletion of a piece of DNA on a particular chromosome in the body and this type of disorder is also known as a copy number variant (CNV).
