MacBook Air and Zenbook have the same design.
In an interview with Digitimes , Asus's chairman, Jonny Shih said he was not "sleepless" for fear of patent-related disputes in the recent high-tech sector. Especially the battle between Apple and Samsung and some other competitors such as Motorola or HTC.
According to the source, the reason that Mr. Jonny Shih is very confident is because Asus currently holds a lot of patents and especially those related to 3G data transmission technology. This is considered a shield against future types of copyright lawsuits.
Taiwanese computer firm has not been involved in any recent patent-related lawsuit. However, the fact is that the latest product line of the Zenbook has a lot of similarities to Apple's MacBook Air. Another Asus product can also stick to the " labor cycle " like Samsung is the Transformer and the latest model is Transformer Prime. Meanwhile, Asus mobile phones are not really accepted by the market.
Mr. Jonny Shih also revealed that Asus is expecting to sell about 300,000 ultrabooks this year.
