Archos also 'net' the netbook
France's multimedia player (PMP) has also begun to enter the very active netbook market. The Archos 10 has a 10.2-inch screen, uses an Intel Atom processor and has a backlit LED.
Archos's first netbook comes with 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive and runs Windows XP, supports Wi-Fi, Ethernet and USB ports.
Archos said the new netbook is priced at £ 349 and will be available later this month. Archos 10 will be pre-installed with free software, including Lotus Symphony, Skype and Outlook Express.
The ability of Archos netbooks to sell 'expensive like hot cakes' is unlikely to happen if Archos does not make a difference with its outstanding features. Asus, Dell and MSI have been very successful in this emerging market.
