Acer and Sony talked about recalling the battery
Acer, the world's fourth-largest computer maker, is discussing with Sony that it may also be recalling lithium-ion batteries.
After Dell, Apple, IBM / Lenovo, Panasonic, Toshiba and Fujitsu have all proceeded to recall faulty batteries. Acer is likely to be the next company to participate in this campaign, though there has been no complaint from customers about the Acer laptop being too hot or on fire.

Meanwhile, HP has once again confirmed that it will stand outside the 'game'. The company also said it did not use Sony batteries for reasons of not meeting technical standards.
Currently Sony has agreed to support part of the computer companies' funds for battery recovery. The Japanese manufacturer has also announced it will open a global "campaign" to replace defective battery packs.
From mid-August to the end of September, there were about 6.6 million laptop batteries recalled. Dell and Apple alone spent about 91-136 million pounds, equivalent to 20-30 billion yen.
