Xiaomi 13 Ultra launched earlier this year in its home country of China and has recently begun making its way to the global market. There would be nothing worth mentioning if the evaluation results recently released by DXOMARK showed that it turns out that Xiaomi 13 Ultra is not capable of being ranked in the top 10 smartphone models with the best cameras in the world, or even worse. Xiaomi 13 Ultra has impressed users as well as reviewers with its versatile camera system. There are many opinions that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra's camera is equally impressive, and can even compete directly with small compact camera models like the RICOH GR series. However, it seems that DXOMARK experts do not think so.

Despite being advertised by Xiaomi as having the pinnacle camera system of mobile photography, it dropped in DXOMARK's rankings. With a total score of 140, Xiaomi 13 Ultra ranked only 14th, tied with Pixel 7, Galaxy S23 Ultra and Vivo X90 Pro Plus. Looking more broadly, Xiaomi's 2023 flagship model is behind a series of other leading candidates in the same segment such as Google Pixel 7 Pro (6th place), Huawei P60 Pro (holding the number 1 position), iPhone 14 Pro and Apple's Pro Max (8th) and even last year's iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max (11th).

And yet, the most surprising thing is that Xiaomi 13 Ultra's ranking is even lower than its predecessor Mi 11 Ultra, which was launched two years ago. As a reminder, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra boasts an extremely impressive camera configuration, including four 50 MP lenses. The main camera uses a Sony IMX989 sensor, while the ultra-wide-angle camera and two telephoto cameras use three IMX858 sensors.
