Apple has announced its first special event for 2024, "Let Loose." Unlike the annual software-focused WWDC event it announced for March 2024, this event appears to be all about the iPad. Here's everything you need to know to watch the event's keynote live.

When does Apple's "Let Loose" event take place? How to watch?

Apple has scheduled the "Let Loose" event for May 7, 2024, at 7 a.m. PT (10 a.m. ET). Apple sent invitations to select media and content creators but made no mention of direct participation like the upcoming WWDC 2024 event. So they will have to watch the speech online like the rest of us.

Although Apple hasn't revealed what it plans to announce at its special event, it's not hard to guess what products might appear. Take a moment to look at the artistic logo Apple created for the event and you'll see the Apple Pencil.

It is unlikely that Apple will hold an event just to introduce the new third-generation Apple Pencil. And considering that Apple hasn't introduced any new iPads since late 2022, it's more likely to be an iPad-focused event.

Previously in March 2024, analysts such as Bloomberg's Mark Gurman predicted the launch of new iPad Pro models in May. These models are expected to have completely new OLED screens, M3 chip and a landscape-facing Face ID camera in a slimmer chassis, which should appeal to buyers looking for a premium device.

Besides the iPad Pro models, the iPad Air is also expected to get a hardware refresh with the M2 chip. Back in September 2023, Gurman also shared plans to launch a brand new Magic Keyboard for Apple's aluminum-based iPad in Bloomberg's Power On newsletter. Apple could introduce it along with the new iPad.

As can be seen, there is a lot to look forward to at this event. Users will be delighted to see redesigned OLED iPads, as the iPad Pro models have remained largely unchanged since 2018.
