Viettel announces the list of Apple Watch models that have used eSIM in Vietnam

Viettel is the first operator in Vietnam to provide 4G eSIM for Apple Watch. Viettel will announce the fee for this service on December 13.

List of Apple Watch models that can use 4G eSIM in Vietnam include:

1. Some models of Apple Watch Series 3 and Series 4 (GPS + Cellular version). Models must run WatchOS 6.1.1 and above and support Viettel band.
2. Most Apple Watch Series 5 cellular versions.

Users can check whether the Apple Watch is compatible with Viettel's band or not by visiting Settings -> select General Settings -> select About -> Find a 5-digit sequence starting with the letter A and compare with the table above.

After the iPhone (iPhone 6S running iOS 13.3 or later) and Apple Watch paired successfully, users can be able to add SIM information into the watch by opening the Apple Watch app -> selecting Mobile Settings (Set up Cellular) -> Fill in some personal information so that the system knows.

Two other carriers, VinaPhone and MobiFone are also implementing eSIM services on the 2018 iPhone generation, including XS, XS Max and XR, but not yet supporting Apple Watch.

eSIM is a form of SIM card that allows mobile devices to connect to network services, but it is built into mobile devices instead of having to be removed and removed as a traditional SIM. To activate eSIM, users only need to perform simple actions.
