Samsung introduces the first all-in-one power IC optimized for true wireless headphones
Samsung has just released 2 micro IC models for MUA01 and MUB01. These are basically the first all-in-one power management (PMIC) integrated circuits to be introduced worldwide, developed specifically for wireless stereo devices (True Wireless Stereo - TWS). will be released in the future.
The two models PMIC MUA01 and MUB01 are respectively designed by Samsung for the charging box and the housing part of the true wireless headphones. By integrating 10 separate components including the switching charger and the discharge circuit into a unified space, Samsung's new PMIC models will take up less than half the space compared to current ICs, ensuring that you can equip your phone on wireless microphones. Besides, the increased space will not only bring innovation in design, but also allow true wireless headphones to hold a larger battery, for longer usage time.
The MUA01 is the first all-in-one chip to support both wired and wireless charging technologies in a single chip. Besides, this is also one of the few headset ICs that have integrated microcontroller and embedded Flash. This provides a very flexible firmware modification capability, which allows the manufacturer to integrate support for many newer applications and features.
For MUB01, this chip supports Qi 1.2.4 - the latest wireless power interface standard today, in addition to a built-in high-efficiency converter charger for superior power management. .
With the ability to communicate via power lines (PLC), these 2 PMICs can communicate directly with each other via the charging pins. This allows the charging box and the headset to quickly share necessary information such as battery level, or connection status between the headset and the charging box.
Samsung said that both the MUA01 and MUB01 are currently in mass production and have been integrated into the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Buds + TWS in-ear headphones, with the ability to play music for a total of 22 hours on a single charge. Best.
