It only takes a minute, Sally robot is launched by American startup can finish one of 1,000 favorite salads.
In Silicon Valley, you can buy everything from pizza to coffee made by robots.
Robot Salad, called Sally, was released in San Francisco on April 13, bringing more than a vending machine. It ( she ) can blend 21 food ingredients to create 1,000 different and more impressive salads, each taking only about 1 minute to make.

Deepak Sekar , CEO of startup robotics Chowbotics , said the goal of the Sally robot is to provide workers with safe, fast meals that can be purchased on the spot. Sekar CEO hopes to install about 125 programs at the Bay Area office salad until the end of 2017. The company is also in talks with WeWork and Amazon to bring this technology to their office.

Three years ago, CEO Sekar - an inventor holding 100 patents - hacked a computer to control the process of combining spices and vegetables in curry. Deepak Sekar decided to turn his hobby into a business when an investor in Silicon Valley ( and the owner of 15 McDonald's stores ) was interested in the project. Sekar CEO and his team worked hard for 2 years to produce a robot version of this salad.
Sally robots can make salads but part of it has to rely on people to get the job done. Sally Robot possesses many compartments for storing various food ingredients - of different origins or purchased from Chowbotics. Every day, people will add food to these boxes for use throughout the day.
When customers order a salad, Sally will process it with a custom combination of customers or from recipes created by Charlie Ayers, who is known as Google's first chef. Menus will be customized according to the seasonal foods available.

Californians have a great love for ripe cherry salad, bell peppers, cucumber, and Kalamata olives and all of them are placed on a layer of kale. The components above are all cut into small pieces, Charlie Ayers said that it is good for programmers who eat and focus on their work.
However, Sally robots cannot mix salads and avocados that are not included in the list of ingredients used to prepare this dish. Sekar said that fruits are too soft for robots to handle, they are studying solutions to this problem.
Organizations that create Sally robots will determine the different costs for each salad. At Galvanize, the average price for a Sally processed salad is 8 USD.
Chowbotics plans to sell this robot to companies for $ 30,000 and provides a monthly payment program for middle-sized offices to buy. Prices may exclude newly established companies by Sally that will make more sense to companies with cafeterias or infrastructure to store processing ingredients.
Sekar said the cost is worth it if the company can save more time from using employees. He suggested that if five workers ( with an average salary of $ 100,000) decided to work up to 8 hours in 5 days a week, they could use Sally in the evening instead of preparing food at home - This will save you about $ 10,000 / month.
" Our revenue model is what is called SaaS - Salad as a Service Salad, " Sekar said.
