The reason I say this is because I find myself having to spend quite a bit of time grappling with Tales of Crestoria , the latest in the Tale s series and a special one for mobile devices. The game will still have the same standard activities as its genre, such as singles, saving gems for summoning heroes, and participating in PvP.
However, you will not collect generic heroes like in AFK Arena , but assemble a team of legendary characters from Tales. My current setup includes Lloyd from Symphonia, Sorey from Zestiria, Cress from Phantasia and Rita from Vesperia. Considering my love for these characters and the series in general, I couldn't live without this lineup!
But I have to be honest with myself: in the long run I doubt I'll stick with AFK Arena again. Although in AFK Arena doesn't allow me to create my favorite groups like in Tales, it helps me to respect my time and my wallet much more. Maybe your experience is different, but I like that I can visit AFK Arena every day, do my quests and be done. I don't have to spend hours raising the level of the characters in my team, or spend a lot of cash to build them.
But that doesn't mean Tales of Crestoria isn't worth playing. Tales of Crestoria is absolutely amazing, to the point where I truly believe it is the most beautiful Tales game to date. It's a bit of an exaggeration, but it's an impressive achievement nonetheless. The story is also really engaging. It's not delivered as 3D cutscenes like in the regular Tales game and has no English dub, but if you take it on its own, it's a compelling story that I'm really happy to hear. experience it.
The battles in Tales of Crestoria are also very lively and borrow some good gameplay from the Tales series. For example, you can load up before battle to boost your stats and use Mystic Arts here for a dramatic victory.
You'll spend most of your time in the story mode, which is delivered almost like the story in similar games, and the battles are also targeted against villainous enemies. As you complete missions, you unlock resources that you can use to upgrade your new characters and modes. It includes quests that increase power-ups, which allow you to get even more resources, Gald quests that make you rich, and a series of more difficult quests that test your skills. Timed event missions are also planned.
When not in single player, you can play against other players in PvP. There is something called "Arena Entry Tickets". You can buy with Gleamstones, the premium currency, or top up to buy. PvP battles will let you join the team with other players, providing you with rewards if you win. In this case you can increase your seasonal rating and level up to 'Battle Pass'.
Which brings us to Tales of Crestoria's most hated point: the recharge. I may have been spoiled and more demanding by AFK Arena, but Tales of Crestoria left me speechless. There are currently only two ways to trade in the game, and both are with Gleamstones. You can buy it with prices ranging from $0.99 for 60 and $74.99 for 8,170 Gleamstone.
Another option is to buy one or both rewards. The first one gives you 50 Gleamstone a day for 14 days, which expires in 24, which gives you some time if you can't play for a few days while the card is active. The second one costs $38.99 and gives you 250 Gleamstone per day, for up to 20 days.
Ultimately, this is what I find most frustrating about Tales of Crestoria. Gacha RPGs are no stranger to asking for large amounts of money to get to the top, but this is very extreme even by their standards. Sure, you don't have to spend money, but you'll only gain a certain capacity stat. Unlike your competitors, you really don't have a lot of resources to upgrade your character by playing for free, which means your upgrade in the story will definitely stall. . Not to mention when you feel your own abilities in PvP.
When evaluating a Gacha RPG , it's important to determine how much you love these franchises! If you want to explore, you can download Tales of Crestoria on Google Play or the App Store to try it out!
