Prepare the total force to respond to DDoS attacks in 2014

Mr. Vu Quoc Khanh, Director of Vietnam Computer Emergency Response Center (VNCERT) said in 2014, the risk of hacker attacks by denial of service (DDoS) is not ruled out.

Common tasks that botnet implementations include mass spamming, DDoS attacks and mass personal information spying.

Recently, Mr. Khanh once said that at least 500,000-1,000,000 computers in Vietnam are infected with malicious code and located in global botnets.

The latest report from security vendor Kaspersky in Vietnam announced on December 26 also showed that, in addition to computers, mobile devices are also a powerful tool.

Identifying the situation of the rescue in Vietnam, Mr. Khanh said, currently, Vietnam's emergency computer incident coordination network has linked more than 100 member units, including Internet providers, management unit.

This network regularly shares information and exercises to prevent ghost computer networks (botnets) and DDoS attacks .

These efforts are an important basis for early detection of signs of attacks, timely closure of attack addresses.

In addition, VNCERT also actively cooperates with Centers to rescue emergency incidents of other countries to combat cross-border attacks.
