Google Trends did some research to compile this information. 'Trending Mother's Day activities' was the search term that saw the biggest spike in searches leading up to the holiday. The data below was collected from Wednesday, April 22nd to Tuesday, April 29th, 2025.

According to Google's list, many people use Mother's Day as an excuse to indulge their creative side. Arts-focused activities made up five of the top 10, the most of any category. Pottery classes were the most searched-for idea for the holiday. Sculpting, painting, perfumery, and crafts also made the list.

Food-related Mother's Day date ideas were another popular choice this year. People seemed to want to bond with their moms over their cooking skills, or lack thereof, as cooking classes came in second. Brunch dates came in third, indicating that a fair number of people want someone else to cook for them. The Daily Meal shares that many restaurant professionals agree that Mother's Day is one of the busiest days of the year for the food service industry.

Another way to honor Mom is to treat her to a wine tasting event, which came in at number eight. Painting and wine tasting classes—which came in at number 10—are also a fun way to combine wine and expression.
