Microsoft launched Skype 8.0, Skype Classic will cease operation after September 1, 2018
Today, Microsoft released a version of Skype 8.0 for computers with a host of new features to replace version 7.0 (aka Skype Classic), which will officially stop working after September 1, 2018 .
New features added in Skype version 8.0 include HD quality video and screen sharing during calls, file and data sharing up to more than 300 MB, support @mentions in conversations .
In the future, Skype 8.0 will continue to be updated by Microsoft with some other new features. One of the most important features will be updated to enhance the security of this chat application, which is to encrypt phone calls, text messages and files.
In addition, Microsoft will also update the call recording feature in Skype 8.0, to store recording calls on the cloud. At that time, everyone in that call will be notified. Currently, Skype users who want to record calls are using third-party utilities.
Skype 8.0 with similar features will soon be updated for mobile devices.
From now on, users can download the latest Skype for Windows 10.
