Many Apple devices suddenly sold out, signaling good news

Apple is preparing to launch a new version of the MacBook Air with upgraded internals in the coming months. The company is also working on a new iPad, which may have improved components but will not support Apple Intelligence.

Is Apple ready to announce a slew of new devices as early as next week?

According to analyst Mark Gurman, Apple may announce the iPad Air M4 and MacBook Air M4 soon due to depleted inventory of the current models at Apple stores around the world. Bloomberg also reported that Apple may launch the iPhone SE 4 next week. Meanwhile, iPad Air and MacBook Air stock is dwindling at stores, which could indicate that the new devices will be introduced alongside the iPhone SE 4.

While there is no exact release date for the iPad Air M4 and MacBook Air M4, shortages at Apple stores suggest that the company may be preparing to replace the current models with upgraded versions. It was previously reported that Apple would hold an event in April to introduce the iPhone SE 4, MacBook Air M4, and iPad Air M4.

Typically, when inventory of an Apple product is running low, it's a sign that the company is planning a new version. The new iPad Air and MacBook Air models are expected to feature the same M4 chip that powers the OLED MacBook Pro and iPad Pro models. However, there's no indication that there will be any major design changes for either device.

iPad Air M4 is said to not have many changes compared to the current version.

In addition to the iPhone SE 4, iPad Air M4, and MacBook Air M4, Apple is also expected to introduce an upgraded version of the budget iPad. Previous reports have said that the budget iPad will be equipped with the A17 Pro chip - the same chip that powers the iPhone 15 Pro models - to bring Apple's intelligence features to them. However, some sources have said that the device will not support Apple's AI features. It is still unclear whether the budget iPad will integrate Apple's latest AI gadgets at an affordable price.
