Laptop sold in August 2012

August continued to receive many models using Intel Core i 3rd generation processors from Toshiba, Dell or HP. In particular, notably Dell with Vostro ultra-thin line.

The time is close to the beginning of the school year but due to launching many low-cost models from last month to dominate the market, this month less cheap laptops appeared. Mostly still the upgrade of the release versions in May and June but using the new processor platform.

Here are the laptop models sold this month.

HP Probook P4440s

HP Probook P4440s recently appeared to 4 new models. All of them own 14-inch screen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, weighing 2.2 kg, connections like USB 3.0, HDMI, VGA and about 3 hours of battery life. These versions include:

Probook P4440s B4V34PA uses Intel Core i3-3110M chip with 2.4 GHz speed, 2 GB RAM, 500 GB hard drive, Intel HD Graphics chip, Linux operating system priced at VND 14.2 million.

Probook P4440s B4V37PA uses Intel Core i5-3210M chip with 2.5 GHz speed, 4 GB RAM, 640 GB hard drive, Intel HD Graphics graphics chip, Linux operating system costs VND 15.2 million.

The P4440s A5K36AV Probook is similar to Probook P4440s B4V37PA but has a pre-installed Windows 7 operating system, priced at VND 16.2 million.

Probook P4440s B4V38PA uses Intel Core i5-3210M chip with 2.5 GHz speed, 4 GB RAM, 750 GB hard drive, 2 GB AMD Radeon 7650M VRAM graphics card costs VND 17.2 million.

Vostro 3360 weighs 1.67 kg, 18.6 mm thin and 13 inch screen resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels against glare. Although the standard of design, but this product does not belong to Intel's ultrabook line because of using traditional HDD.

Specifically, the device is equipped with Intel Core i3-2367M processor with 1.4 GHz speed, 2 GB RAM, 500 GB hard drive and Intel HD Graphics graphics chip. It has an additional 8-type memory card reader, fingerprint identification slot, Bluetooth 4.0 and the latest USB 3.0 port.

Reference price of the machine is 14.9 million.

M840 is Toshiba's stylish design laptop with a unique mirror cover. It has a 14 inch screen, Intel Core i5-3210M processor with 1.5 GHz speed, Intel HM76 chipset, 2 GB RAM, 500 GB hard drive. This product also has two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port and a standard HD webcam.

The reference price of Satellite M840-1021G is 13.27 million VND (not including VAT).

Dell Vostro 3560-P33X41

Dell Vostro 3560-P33X41

The Dell Vostro 3560 has a similar design to the 3360, but the screen is larger with 15.6 inches and along with it is a much larger weight, up to 2.57 kg and 28.8 mm thin.

Its configuration includes 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5-3210M processor, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB 7,200 rpm hard drive and Intel HD Graphics 4000 graphics chip. Reference price is VND 16.2 million.

Like the Vostro 3560, the 3460 version changes in screen size compared to 3360 which is 14 inches. It weighs 2.23 kg and is 28 mm thin.

Configuration of the machine includes Intel Core i5-3210M processor with 2.5 GHz speed, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB hard disk speed of 7,200 rpm and NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M graphics chip with 1 GB VRAM.

Selling price of reference products is VND 17.5 million.

Toshiba Satellite L840.

Satellite L840 this month launched two new versions including 1011X and 1031X for 13.2 and 13.8 million respectively. Both own 14-inch screen, Intel Core i5-3210M processor with 2.5 GHz speed, 2 GB RAM and 500 GB hard drive. The difference comes mainly from a cheaper graphics chip, the Intel HD Graphics 4000, while the higher-end model is the AMD Thames XT-M2.
