Google wants to be mobile
An article published yesterday again sparked rumors that the search giant might want to go deeper into mobile.
Citing an unnamed source " once negotiated with Google ", this PhoneArena article confirmed that Google is interested in the idea of becoming a new mobile network in the US. If all goes well, the search giant will be able to deploy services in the same areas where it currently supplies Google Fiber optical network .
In fact, it seems that Google has begun juggling with the idea of becoming a mobile network since 2012, but in December of that year, it decided that the project was too risky and complicated to postpone. .
But last year, it seemed that everything was restarting when Google negotiated with Sprint to become a Sprint MVNO ( Sprint's virtual private network provider ). Now, experts believe that Google has switched to two other networks, Verizon or T-Mobile. Verizon is currently the largest operator in the US, while T-Mobile is considered the most innovative network.
There is also speculation that Google will offer a hybrid service similar to Republic Wireless and Freedom Pop . These two networks offer users low-cost packages using Wi-Fi connectivity to transfer calls, messages and data. Once you move out of the Wi-Fi signal area, the network operator will connect with a 3G or 4G signal from Sprint. Google's hybrid service will be able to use Wi-Fi from Google Fiber and regular mobile signals from any carrier Google partners.
