Firefox launches a new design version with a compact design
Mozilla redesigned Firefox most recently in 2014 with the Australis interface and the Photon interface in 2017. Since then Firefox has had many updates but has not had a breakthrough interface for the user experience.
Firefox has launched a completely new design to help you get online quickly and without being distracted by distracting notifications or messages. The new update is also geared towards more privacy protection, which will be incorporated in this latest version of Firefox.
The highlight for Firefox's design is the newly upgraded Tab management, the tabs have a curved design that looks like they are hovering over the menu bar. The purpose for this design is to remind users to grab tabs and rearrange them as they see fit. When users open multiple tabs it will display brighter, easier to see than the other in any screen size from computer, phone or tablet.
Mozilla has also simplified the toolbar and menus, Firefox 89 has consolidated additional menus to reduce clutter and put the actions people use most often where they are most easily accessible. As part of the toolbar redesign, the shield icon located inside the URL bar will glow to indicate Firefox's enhanced privacy protections are active in the background.
Firefox 89 on Android and iOS also has some elements of the redesign. The browser on Android has new icons throughout the application and is not the same as the desktop browser. On iOS, Mozilla has paid special attention to reducing the number of steps it takes to use some key browser features.
Firefox 89 is now available, users can download it on their computer, phone or tablet to experience this new interface.
