Facebook is about to rename new names for Instagram and WhatsApp

Facebook will rename the two platforms of Instagram and WhatsApp to be more transparent about its products and services. Bertie Thompson, a Facebook spokesman, confirmed the change of name.

According to secret information from The Information, Facebook intends to change the names of these two platforms to 'Instagram from Facebook' and 'WhatsApp from Facebook' to make it clear that these are two applications belonging to this social network.

This move by Facebook is seen as a way to deal with the company constantly facing monopolistic criticism, and politicians are calling for "tearing up" this social network. In addition, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is also investigating the Facebook acquisition of both Instagram and WhatsApp to find out if the company bought rivals to eliminate the risk of competition.

In 2012, Facebook bought Instagram for $ 1 billion, then the social network continued to spend $ 19 billion to buy WhatsApp in 2014.
